YES, THE GARBELY PUBLISHING COMPANY OWNS A CABOOSE!

GPCo’s caboose No. 21292 was built new in 1978 for Conrail. This caboose spent about 16 years working in western Pennsylvania before being transferred to southern Delaware, where it was still located when GPCo representatives first saw it in 2019. GPCo acquired the historic caboose outright in May of 2022 and moved it later that year to Port Jervis, New York, where it is now on display at the Erie Turntable as an example of the hundreds of identical Conrail cabooses that once worked in this area. GPCo is working to restore the exterior of this fully operational caboose to its original Conrail appearance, while the interior is being remodeled for office/meeting space, special events, book storage, and use on Operation Toy Train’s annual Toys for Tots collection train.
