The Garbely Publishing Company (GPCo) is a small, independent publisher of railroad history based in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. Since 2012, GPCo has specialized in short-run books for authors with unique or niche railroad topics, with over 15 titles currently in print. GPCo is NOT a “vanity press.” Rather, GPCo is a traditional book publisher, taking an author’s manuscript from concept to publication at no cost to the author. GPCo also handles all marketing for its publications, and royalties are paid to the authors based on a percentage of book profits. Since each of GPCo’s books represents a financial investment, the company is quite selective about what titles are published, ensuring that each book represents the finest quality of written and researched railroad history available on the market today. RUDY GARBELY

Rudy is a professional railroad historian and graphic designer with over a decade of web and design experience on a variety of platforms. Specializing in simplistic, historically-influenced copy and design work, Rudy has created logos, graphics, and written content for a diverse range of clients. A 2012 graduate of Moravian College's history program (with honors), Rudy has studied historical methods and preservation at both the National Museum of Industrial History and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and has a Certificate in Editing from The Poynter Institute. He is an active member of the Lexington Group, an invitation-only organization of railroad scholars.
He is currently the Executive Director of the Erie Turntable and a director of both Operation Toy Train and the New England Steam Corporation. He has previously been involved in the management of The Conrail Historical Society, Operation Toy Train of New York, the Dining Car Society, and the Tri-State Railway Historical Society. Rudy founded The Garbely Publishing Company in December of 2012, and he is the author of eleven books on railroad history and the award-winning publisher of over 30 additional railroad titles by other authors.
Rudy handles most of The Garbely Publishing Company's website design work, as well as graphic design, photo editing, and formatting for print publications. He manages general marketing as well as dealer and vendor sales, and is also currently working on several new writing projects of his own.
Carolyn Hoffman

Carolyn has over a decade of experience in railroad history preservation with various volunteer organizations and is currently the president of Operation Toy Train of New York, vice president of the Tri-States Railway Preservation Society, secretary of the Dining Car Society, and a director for Operation Toy Train. She was previously involved in the management of The Conrail Historical Society. With a professional tenure in executive administration and customer service, Carolyn brought a unique skill set to The Garbely Publishing Company when she joined the company in July of 2017. She is the award-winning author of one railroad history book.
Carolyn provides various support functions, including contract writing and editing assignments as well as website design and maintenance. She is also an integral part of The Garbely Publishing Company's shipping and receiving department.
